Christina Makoyawo is a self-taught fine artist.

Raised in New York City, first-generation artist of Nigerian descent. I have been creating art since childhood with my initial focus being fashion design. Having put those dreams aside for the sake of traditional schooling, I spent years without creating art. The Universe, however, has revived the importance of my purpose of creating my art. I have since worked to develop my own artistic style which I’ve categorized as contempluxe art™. Being of Nigerian descent, I draw inspiration from imperial, spiritual and visual elements from my culture.

I use a variety of mediums including ink, pencil, oil and acrylic paints to craft mystifyingly regal, rich-colored art pieces to promote the ethereal beauty of the West African female form. My specialty is to merge alluring figures and distorted visual effects with floral motifs and African prints to create enchanting visual experiences.

CURRENTLY, I reside in Los Angeles and continue to develop my work and artistic expression.
